I am so excited to partner with the IBC Network Foundation and Stefanie Spielman to support more women here locally that have been diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. As you know, this cause is near and dear to my heart.
My sister and best friend, Lori, passed away from Inflammatory Breast Cancer 9 years ago. She and I had dreams of our children growing up together, vacationing together and just being there through it all, like sisters do. It makes me sad that her children have to grow up without their mommy. While I believe in my heart that Lori knew my daughter Kendall, even before I did, I hate that she doesn't get to be a part of her life on earth. She wanted so badly to see me become a mother, and it breaks my heart that she is not here cheering me along and guiding me.
Lori began the Hunt for Hope in 2011 because she dreamed of preventing others from suffering as she did. She wanted to raise money in a fun way for much-needed RESEARCH for IBC. My family and I are doing all that we can to carry on Lori's legacy. Your support means the world to my family and me and all who loved Lori. I am sure she is looking down on all of us with pride. She would be blown away by the money we have raised for research and trials, as well as the awareness we have brought to the disease. Feel free to forward this to anyone you think might want to donate or you can even create your own fundraising page. I would love to see join the event if you are able! It will be FUN!
