The IBC Network Foundation Presents
A Bowling Fundraiser

STRIKES Against Cancer
This Is How We Roll

For years and in honor of Lori, our family has partnered with the IBC Network Foundation to support IBC research at MD Anderson, Dana Farber, and Vanderbilt. After years of preparations, our work has led to the establishment of an IBC program in Ohio. The James Cancer Hospital’s Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center now houses an inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) program. The IBC program is the first in the state of Ohio and one of only a handful in the nation.

However, we are not stopping here! There is more to do and we look forward to your continued support or your first time support!

Please join us in celebrating our milestone, and all the milestones to be realized, as we continue to raise funds for inflammatory breast cancer research. Friday, August 2, 2024, we will host “Strikes Against Cancer, This is How we Roll!" Your support, by forming a team, being a donor and/or asking friends to donate, will assist in making a strike against the most fatal form of breast cancer, inflammatory breast cancer. Because of your generosity, the women of Ohio, and surrounding states, will have better odds of beating this disease.

In memory of Dr. Lori Gill Grennan, a young doctor and mother taken by this disease far too young, but her life continues to impact the lives of others.

What is IBC?

A working definition: Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) is a rare and very aggressive disease in which cancer cells block lymph vessels in the skin of the breast.

This type of breast cancer is called “inflammatory” because the breast often looks swollen and red, or “inflamed.”

The IBC Network Foundation's mission:

  • To fund research regarding Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
  • To provide an avenue to network proactive education to the general population as well as the medical community regarding Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
