Breast Cancer Sucks
stop it before it metastasizes
I hope to see a cure for all types of breast cancer in my lifetime.
My mother was diagnosed with hormonal breast cancer 12 years ago. She did everything doctors said to do. She had a double mastectomy, took all the pills, went through radiation and chemotherapy, changed her diet, etc.. We were so thankful when she “beat it.”
10 years later, she felt like her body seemed off. Her hands had started shaking intermittently and she was losing her balance frequently. Trusting her gut, she made an appointment with her oncologist.
Through scans and an MRI we learned that her breast cancer had metastasized. It had spread to her bones, brain, liver, and spine. She immediately went through brain and spinal radiation treatments to buy her some time.
She passed away about one year after this second diagnosis… January 4, 2024.
She was with me when I took my first breath in this life and I was with her when she took her last. There’s no comfort to this grief. I continue to hope and pray for cures.
