Gena “Ama” Solano Snider, age 54, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, surrounded by her family at the Snider home in Arlington, Washington.

Gena was born on December 30, 1970, in Makati, Philippines, to Maria Solano. She graduated from Oak Harbor High School in 1989 and later relocated back to Washington, where she built a beautiful life raising her family. Gena worked for Costco for 12 years, known by all for her warm heart, generous spirit, and joyful personality.

Ama was cherished for her incredible love of cooking, her devotion to her grandchildren, and her unwavering faith in God. She had a sweet tooth that was as big as her heart, adored her boxer dogs Rexy and Drago, and brought laughter to every room with her goofy, bold, and selfless nature. Her desire to serve others, her strength, and her generosity were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Gena is lovingly survived by her husband, Jeff Snider; daughter Amber Sterling (Rod); son Mike Snider (Krysten); grandchildren Nevaeh and Anabella; her unborn grandchildren Geovanna and Isaiah; her father Raymond Raley; sister Josie Moynihan (Brian); and brothers Will Raley and Danny Raley (Alyssa). She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Maria “Lola” Raley.

Facing Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) with remarkable courage, grace, and faith in Christ, Gena never lost her sense of humor or love for life. She inspired everyone around her with her strength and resilience through every challenge.

While cancer took Gena’s physical presence, it never touched her spirit or the love she leaves behind. Her family finds comfort knowing her pain has ended and that she is now at peace, reunited with her mother “Lola” in Heaven.

A service to celebrate Gena’s life will be held on Friday, October 10th starting at 9am at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home in Marysville, WA, followed by a procession to the burial site. Family and friends may visit to pay their respects on Thursday, October 9th, from 1-5pm at Schaefer-Shipman Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the IBC Network Foundation in Gena’s memory.
